Join acclaimed translator, performance artist, and vocalist Haleh Liza Gafori for an uplifting and transportive evening of music and recitation from her upcoming translation of Rumi's Water. Weaving translations, original text, and musical compositions sung in Persian and English, Haleh offers glimpses of the astonishing rhythm and wordplay of Rumi’s original text while uncovering how deeply and urgently the poetry dialogues with our times. Join us for a scintillating tapestry of word and sound.

Accompanied by Grammy-nominated musician Shahzad Ismaily and drummer William "Trae" Crudup.
